the belief that a speci c observer has of the occurrence of a speci c event. Note that in this version of probability, it is possible that two di erent observers may assign di erent probabilities to the same event. Furthermore, the probability of an event, for me, is likely to change as I learn more about the event, or the context of the event. 10

Eddy current brakes use the drag force created by eddy currents as a brake to slow or stop moving objects. Since there is no contact with a brake shoe or drum, there is no mechanical wear. However, an eddy current brake cannot provide a "holding" torque and so may be used in combination with mechanical brakes, for example, on overhead cranes.
Basic Principles of Eddy Current Inspection. Eddy current inspection is one of several NDT methods that use the principal of electromagnetism as the basis for conducting examinations. Several other methods such as Remote Field Testing (RFT), Flux Leakage and Barkhausen Noise also use this principle.

In the problem of designing installations in which vessels or pipes of mild steel are heated electrically to a temperature not greater than the Curie point, either by conducting into or by inducing in them alternating current at supply frequency, the electrical engineer appears to find little practical assistance in published work. The paper gives some details of actual installations and the ...
